Recently, I got to present a webinar, “The Power of Love: Contractor Engagement As a Competitive Advantage.”

This webinar hits close to home and is a topic that I’m extremely passionate about. I’m so excited to share Sense and to be working with the staffing industry to improve contractor engagement.

To retain great talent, companies must engage with contractors in an authentic and personal way. Today, that’s the key to running a successful staffing business.

The webinar was presented live on March 28, 2017, but you can watch the playback anytime on the Staffing Industry Analysts website, who was our partner in the presentation.

In the webinar I share how companies can:

  1. Reduce involuntary attrition through a contractor engagement program.
  2. Design strategies and processes and use technology to improve redeployment rates.
  3. Track which candidates are most at risk for leaving the firm using Artificial Intelligence and analytics.

Consultant engagement within the staffing industry is broken, but it can be fixed with a few simple steps.

According to Staffing Industry Analysts, a global advisor on staffing and workforce solutions, when asked what would improve working with staffing agencies, contingent workers said they want to see:

  • More details about the duties of their assignment
  • More information about the hiring company’s culture
  • More opportunity for training, especially in technology

If staffing companies can provide these things to contractors, attrition rates will start to go down, and fast. This can have a huge impact on your reputation and Glassdoor ratings, and that can further improve the number of applicants you get organically. Within four months of launching Sense, some of our clients have been able to dramatically improve their Net Promoter Scores and Glassdoor ratings.

Our vision at Sense is to help staffing firms engage contractors throughout their entire assignment lifecycle — from a staffing firm’s very first contact with a new candidate, to the interview, to getting an assignment, completing the assignment, and redeployed into another one.

I want to give a big thank you to Staffing Industry Analysts who hosted the webinar and Adrianne Nelson, Senior Director, who moderated.

I was also joined by two strong, successful voices in the world of staffing firms — Tammi Taylor Heaton, COO Pridestaff, and Manny Vidal, COO The Matlen Silver Group.

Tammi spoke in the webinar about how Pridestaff has used Sense to improve their overall candidate experience and the onboarding process. Some Sense customers are seeing over 20% reduction in involuntary turnover.

Manny discussed how The Matlen Silver Group uses Sense to engage with talent while they’re on assignment, and then quickly redeploy that talent when the assignment is completed. Since implementing Sense through their organization, many of our clients have increased their redeployment rates by over 50%.

Engaging with contractors throughout the recruiting, onboarding, assignment, and redeployment phases creates an environment that leads to high contractor loyalty, low attrition rates, and increased redeployment. All of this comes together to create a successful and profitable staffing firm.
