2024 update. After writing this article in 2021 based on preliminary data, my research findings significantly changed as more studies were completed. I will update this story with more empirical data. Here is my update on digestive issues as of May 2024.

The brain is a critical organ for the body to function correctly. As I introduced before, the human defense system is very complex, displaying both physical and mental effects. Understanding immunity in nervous and cognitive systems has been an interest to me for decades.

Besides scientific and academic pursuits, the impact of immunity on neurology is a topic close to my heart. For example, after testing positive for the COVID-19 virus, a family member experienced severe neurological symptoms that caused hospitalization, as I shared in this recent story:
