Back in February, Sensorly’s engineering team announced the beta version of the new Sensorly app, and a lot of you participated in helping us refine it. Our new app launched last week and we’ve received great feedback from our dedicated users during during these phases, and we’ve fixed these things to include some bug issues and improved app usability for visually impaired users.

For those who might not know what Sensorly is, it’s an app that allows you to do one of two things:

  1. Map Trip — this test allows you to see your signal strength along your route, be it a run around the corner or a trip across the country. You can ‘paint the map,’ based upon your route, and see where your coverage may not be as strong as your provider says.
  2. Speed-Test — the speed-test allows you to see how fast both your download (ex; videos) and upload (ex; posting images) are, based up on your current location, as well as pinging the closest tower to your location, so you’ll know what your network experience will be, wherever you are.

Going forward, we’re going to interact with and listen to what our users are enjoying and what they’d like to see, and, if feasible, make the app more robust based upon those recommendations, such as showing when the data on the map was last updated and Map Trip sharing.

As an aside, it is important to let you know that there is no personal data collection happening, whatsoever. For any other FAQs, please read: https://www.sensorly.com/en/faq/.

Get to mapping, you guys!

Oh, and follow us for fun sweepstakes opportunities, and to find out what we’re doing next! :)
