Rapping About the Sexual Conquest of Jewish Women Is Antisemitic and Misogynistic
The fetishization of Jewish Women Post 10–7
It’s not bad enough that the sexual violence against Israeli women, children, babies, and men is denied, revised, and distorted, but now we must listen to rappers like Chris Brown and Kanye West who trivialize the atrocities of 10–7 by contributing to the normalization of ‘rape culture’ by unapologetically singing along and dancing to “Vultures.”
In the lyrics, Kanye proclaims: “How am I antisemitic? I just fucked a Jewish bitch.”
It’s not bad enough that the Me Too movement has turned its back on dehumanized Israelis, justifying the rapes and murders of innocents, but now as a Jewish woman in the Diaspora, I have to tolerate lyrics that normalize the fetishization of Jewish women?
Feminist organizations have failed Jewish women with their deafening silence in denouncing sexual violence against Israeli women, causing Jewish feminists to create hashtags such as “Believe Israeli Women” and “Me Too Unless Ur A Jew.”
It’s no surprise then that Jewish women are alone in this fight against their fetishization and are the ones who must speak up against the fetishization of our sexuality.
