The Song of You

The somber song of my soul
has played pitifully across the endless
agony of countless ages, upon ears
and hearts not worthy to share its
subtle splendor.
I have died a host of silent deaths,
my life a ghost of violent rests;
Notes of hope of finding home,
composed of dreams had all alone.
Yet now I hear a harmony —
my soul’s song sung back to me.
A tune I know well and true,
for now I hear the song of you.
