Unbutton Those Tender Buttons

Photo by Jayson Hinrichsen on Unsplash

Tender buttons unbuttoned one by one
I’m weak under your thumb
even when you reel me in and then push me away

folding away at the pain
unfolding the eternal flower
pink and white calla lilies
