What is sensuality?

When you think of the word sensual, what comes to mind?

Slow. Touch. Savoring. Intimacy. Candles and soft music. Sweet lovemaking perhaps? Tender.

When someone labels themselves as a sensualist, what comes to mind?

During my years in the kink community, I have applied many adjectives to my sexual self. I am submissive. I have masochistic tendencies. I can be primal prey and sometimes hedonistic. I savor ideas of sexual debauchery and even degradation. Bacchanalia. I like to fuck and I like to make love. I want to give in entirely to the sexual moment.

I am most comprehensively a sensualist.

According to the dictionary, a sensualist is a person " a person devoted to physical, especially sexual, pleasure." There is no confinement as to how that physical pleasure is derived nor is physical simply corporeal. The mind is a part of the body. The mind is the center of all physical pleasure and all sensation.

I am a sensation whore and the sensations that I enjoy are not simply soft and sweet. I do revel in that, of course. I like lingering touches but I also like harder and swifter ones. I delight in my lover's caress and thrill under the firm swat of his warm hand. Just as much…
