Uppsala Security and NSHC sign a MoU on Technology Partnership and Business Cooperation
Singapore, 21 May 2020 — Uppsala Security, a blockchain based cybersecurity company, officially announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NSHC, a company specialized in Dark Web cybersecurity. The goal of the technology and business cooperation is to jointly develop technologies that will enable government agencies in the future to track and investigate cybercrime such as the “Nth room” case and the Dark Web.
The agreement also included the signing of a NDA and the cooperation between NSHC, specialized in Dark Web security technologies, and Uppsala Security, which built and operates an award winning suite of advanced tracking and risk management solutions, will lead to the development of joint technologies designed for cybercrime tracking and investigation.
According to the “2019 Cyber Threat Analysis Report” published by the Korean National Police Agency, a total of 180,499 cybercrime cases were committed last year, and it has increased up to 20.7 percent compared to the previous year’s 149,604 rate. Among them, 24,945 cases (13.8 percent out of it) were crimes such as the production and distribution of sexual abuse materials related to the “Nth room” case. As crime methods are also becoming increasingly creative and sophisticated, cybercrime investigations also need new and innovative approaches to strengthen their responsiveness.
In the case of NSHC, the Dark Web Intelligence platform “DarkTracer” has tens of billions of dark web data accumulated since 2016 (as of May 2020–780,000 Dark Web Onion sites and 8.7 billion analyzed intelligence information). NSHC has a solution that coordinates and analyzes accumulated Dark Web intelligence data with newly collected criminal evidence to help identify criminals and support law enforcement in the investigation process.
Uppsala Security constantly accumulates Threat Intelligence in its blockchain based data hub, including blacklisted virtual asset wallet addresses associated with fraud, hacking, scamming or Money Laundering and is characterized by its ability to proactively identify and track malicious activity, based on its own Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms.
