Singapore, 12 January 2021 — Patrick Kim, Founder & CEO of Uppsala Security, won the Entrepreneurship award within the „2020 Third National Competitiveness Awards“ in South Korea hosted by the National Competitiveness Innovation Committee and co-hosted by the Korea Marketing Association and Consumer Evaluation.

Patrick Kim has contributed to the security industry by establishing a Global Crypto Incident Response Center (CIRC) as an internal subsidiary to help enterprises and individual victims who are struggling to find a solution when faced with evolving cyber crimes such as cryptocurrency fraud and hacking.

Uppsala Security has drawn keen attention as it has used its cryptocurrency tracking security solutions, like the Crypto Analysis Transaction Visualization (CATV) tool, to cooperate in tracking crime related cryptocurrency funds that have caused major social issues such as ‘the Nth Room’, exchange hacks and multi-level fraud. These products and solutions are helping law enforcement agencies to quickly and accurately check the flow of suspicious blockchain based transactions and detecting related exchanges used for money laundering attempts. In addition, the company has developed the Crypto Analysis Risk Assessment (CARA) tool, a risk assessment/analysis solution that can identify high risk transactions in advance and prevent potentially dangerous transactions by learning various transaction patterns of risk wallets through Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Uppsala Security won the 2020 Asia-Pacific Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Security Technology Innovation Award from the world-renowned research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan, and is also recognized for its innovation capabilities by significant world-wide stakeholders, including legal institutions, wallets and settlement companies. Representative customers and partners include the Samsung Blockchain Wallet, Danal FinTech, Bithumb Exchange and The Seoul Newspaper.

The CEO & Founder of Uppsala Security, Patrick Kim, said: “We are pleased to receive this award as recognition of our achievements. In a constantly developing decentralized world, it is our mission to assist cryptocurrency crime victims.“ He also added: “Continuing to pursue this mission in 2021, we will extend our professional and state-of-the-art products and provide blockchain focused security and ready to use AML/regulatory solutions.”
