Participants will be able to claim their testing rewards after the 15th of October, scroll down to the “How to Claim Your Tokens” section for more information.

The Sentinel Utility Drop is now complete. Over 4,000 unique users downloaded the lite dVPN client from the Google Play Store while over 20,000 unique users in total downloaded the client released on the Official Github. Thanks to all participants as well as the community-based dVPN node hosts for helping make this event a great success.

This Utility Drop helped the team gain valuable data on, and insight into:

  • Understanding user interaction with the entire dVPN mobile application.
  • Data consumption statistics for mobile devices and related patterns.
  • Consumption needs for various demographics and geographic regions.
  • Stress-testing distributed VPN architecture through exposure to hundreds of real-time users.

Furthermore, the Utility Drop helped bring the Sentinel dVPN application to greater mainstream awareness and marks the beginning of a public marketing campaign. This will be followed by the public launch of Sentinel using TenderMint on the Cosmos Network.

Mobile Client Update

All participants will have to update both Sentinel mobile clients in order to be eligible to receive the utility drop rewards or to be considered as a ‘referral’ for other participants.

  1. Sentinel dVPN Network App (GitHub) — Participants will have to download the Sentinel dVPN Network App v0.1.8 (that has the Sentinel dVPN Network ERC20 wallet) release from https://github.com/sentinel-official/sentinel/releases.
  2. Sentinel Lite Client (Google Play) — Participants will be prompted through Google Play to update their lite client to the latest v0.1.8 release.

How to Claim Your Tokens*

Qualifying participants of Sentinel’s mobile app-focused Utility Drop will be able to claim their rewards after the 9th of October and will receive tokens after the 15th of October.

You can check the potential amount of SENT that you have earned from your referrals at https://leaderboard.sentinel.co.

*In order to combat VM-based fraud, all participants are required to complete at least 2 sessions of a minimum bandwidth of 100 MB each in-order to be eligible to receive rewards.

Steps to claiming tokens

#1 — Participants must update both the Sentinel dVPN Network App and Sentinel Free VPN from Google Play (v0.1.8) — Please refer to the Mobile Client Update section above for the relevant links. Users who have already linked their wallet address to their Referral ID can enter the Referrals page and click the “Claim Bonus” button. For help linking your wallet address, please proceed to step #2.

From the Navigation, visit the Referrals tab and check for the Claim Bonus button to the bottom right

#2 — If you have not yet linked your wallet address, proceed to the Referrals page and you will be prompted to enter your wallet address. The wallet address can be found inside the Sentinel dVPN Network App from GitHub. Upon starting the app, select the Wallet option to load a screen displaying your wallet address and an option to copy to clipboard.

Go to the wallet on the top right corner of the Sentinel dVPN Node List (image to the left) and tap the Wallet icon to go to the Wallet page with the ERC20 Wallet address to be entered.

#3 — Proceed back to the Referral page on the Sentinel Lite Client. When prompted, select “Enter Address” and paste the wallet address. Be sure to double-check your address!

Enter the Sentinel ERC20 wallet address after copying it from the Sentinel dVPN Network App

#4— Once confirmed and both clients are successfully mapped, participants will then be able to “Claim Bonus” and receive their tokens after the 15th of October. Stock them up to use for staking when Sentinel Network moves to TenderMint!
