Sentinel partners with Metalyfe Browser
Welcome to a private and secure web 3.0
Sentinel has signed a partnership with decentralized web browser provider Metalyfe. This partnership reinforces both parties’ mission to offer their communities a secure and safe browsing experience, unhindered by centralized authorities.
“Privacy is a fundamental right, because it is intrinsic to life and liberty. New technologies alter the balance between privacy and disclosure, giving to a few private companies who control the data, an unlimited amount of power; sometimes far more than the governments themselves, jeopardizing the final stage of democracy.” says Daniele Monteleone, CVO, Metalyfe.
The Metalyfe browser is a smarter, safer and more secure way to explore the digital world with a focus on user experience, privacy and data ownership. It is a web browser, a multi-wallet manager and a portal into a plethora of next generation of Web 3.0 services.
The Metalyfe digital identity Peer-to-peer (P2P) technology creates a decentralized browsing process in which Lyfe coin manages the data related transactions on the blockchain. Thus, allowing people and businesses to store and share their personal information without relying on a centralized repository. Metalyfe believe in providing the safest and most secure environment possible for users to explore and navigate through the digital world which is why they have chosen to partner with Sentinel to offer their users an extra layer of privacy and security. The current beta version of the Metalyfe browser has taken the first step to full decentralization by creating a server-less web experience.
Sentinel uses the power of blockchain technology to create a totally decentralized marketplace that gives vendors the opportunity to monetize resources and gives users access to distributed services (example: seller sells excess bandwidth >< buyer pays for dVPN). As many of you know, our first working service is the decentralized Virtual Private Network (dVPN). The dVPN is the first use case built on the blockchain with an extremely distributed network topology with nodes spanning across continents. Each node can either be a desktop/laptop computer, mobile phone or in the case for Metalyfe, a browser.
“Many people are using centralized VPN services to secure their internet connections and protect their digital assets & online interactions, however at the same time being highly negligent of the vulnerabilities that come with such centralized solutions.
With Sentinel you can trust that your data is secure, as the code is open source and there is no centralized company or body that can be bribed or forced to compromise your data; all of the nodes are distributed globally. This is not only a true breakthrough in cybersecurity but the technology allows anyone with an internet connection to monetize their excess bandwidth by hosting a node.
We are very excited to integrate this service into browsers such as Metalyfe’s, and offer more solutions to monetize other excess resources (e.g. CPU power, GPU power, storage etc.) and more distributed services (dApps) as we grow.” — James McDowall, Sentinel.
The dVPN technology solution offered by Sentinel will be embedded within the Metalyfe browser in Q1 of 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
MetaLyfe’s users will be able to use the LYFE token to pay for dVPN services from Sentinel’s network of nodes once Sentinel is on it’s Tendermint MainNet. Users will be able to swap LYFE tokens for Sentinel (SENT) utilizing inter-blockchain communication (IBC) on the Sentinel MainNet.

Sentinel is a network layer for p2p and decentralized applications enabling users and organizations to create Public and Private networks that provide access to both free and incentivized and also payment methods agnostic (pre-paid/escrow/post-paid) Services & distributed Resources, enabling its clients to become both producers and consumers in the network.
Sentinel utilizes locking, staking and multi-sig directly from Tendermint core and Cosmos SDK and aims to fully eliminate disadvantages of previous generation protocols, that couldn’t scale due to limitations of the blockchain they share with other dApps or have an unsustainable economic model that reduces usability or access to the product they offer.
