27 August 2018: InfoCorp Foundation welcomes its new advisor, Dr. Pei Sai Fan
With nearly 40 years experience in banking and finance, Dr. Pei has breadth and depth of expertise spanning commercial banking, investment banking and capital markets, central banking and financial regulation and supervision.
Dr. Pei’s last held position in a banking group was Senior Vice President and Head of Capital Markets. After 20 years in commercial and investment banking, he joined The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS, central bank and integrated financial regulator in Singapore). In his 14 years there, Dr. Pei served in several capacities, first as Director of Banking Department, supervising banks’ investment banking, capital markets, and treasury and derivatives activities. He was subsequently appointed Director of the newly established MAS Academy which provides professional and leadership training, research and knowledge management for MAS staff, and capacity building and technical assistance programmes for the central bankers and financial regulators from regional countries. Dr Pei was also President of the National University of Singapore (NUS) Alumni Association of Financial Engineers and Associate Professor of Quantitative Finance at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business in Singapore Management University (SMU).
He is now Adjunct Professor at NUS; SMU; Nanyang Technological University (NTU); Renmin University of China and Hong Kong Financial Services Institute. Dr. Pei is also Co-founder of Lee & Pei Finance Institute, senior consultant of RHT Compliance Solutions, Singapore, External Expert for the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ (CASS)’ Institute of Finance & Banking, Board Member and Adviser of Singapore Global Equity Exchange and an Early Investor and Mentor/Adviser for Fintech start-ups (e.g. adviser to Distributed Regtech Collaboration Platform (DRC), and mentor to incubator, LongHash).
Dr Pei holds a Doctor of Business Administration and a Master of Management Research from The University of Western Australia, a Master of Science in Financial Engineering from National University of Singapore, and a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Economics) with 1st class honours from Nanyang University, Singapore.
