Introducing SENConversations: A Sentinel Chain AMA with Jackie Tan
Using data to empower unbanked farmers in Asia
Dear Sentinel Chain community,
I’m excited to be on our Telegram channel later for the first in the SENConversations series.
My name is Jackie. I’m the Head of Business Development and Data Analyst of Sentinel Chain. Besides that, I’m currently doing my PhD in Nanyang Technological University on building 3D structures using 2D images. I have done data analytics consulting and ideate data solutions for companies as well.
As you can tell, I enjoy data and stories that emerge from understanding that data. I am passionate about using technology to help people, which was what got me enthusiastic about Sentinel Chain in the first place. In my free time, I listen to rap music (Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West) and play with my kitten Char Siew Mao.
I have recently participated in Grow Asia Hackathon, where participants explore ways to use existing data from different parties to come up with solutions for better efficiency and productivity for smallholder farmers in Indonesia.
In today’s session, I will be taking questions about using data to empower the farmers in Asia, who form a large part of the 420 million unbanked people across Asia. Of course, on top of that you can also ask me questions about my kitten :D
