📝 Weekly Progress Update — 23 to 29 July 2018
Our dev team is extending and implementing EIP820 within Sentinel Chain to include tracking of address owner identity. CrossPay’s latest version release includes Unicode’s Myanmar Script. Our team met with the Deputy General of Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department in Nay Pyi Taw to deliver a progress update. Our CEO and Founder Roy Lai is in Kuala Lumpur this week to speak at ETHKL #2: Financial Inclusion and Malaysia’s Monthly Blockchain KL Meetup.

A. Technical development
Sentinel Chain Development
Our dev team is
(a) creating a Sentinel Exchange smart contract;
(b) testing vulnerabilities of POA bridge against hard fork*; and
(c) extending and implementing EIP820 within Sentinel Chain to include tracking of address owner identity.
*The formal definition of a hard fork in blockchain is:
A permanent divergence from the previous version of the blockchain, and nodes running previous versions will no longer be accepted by the newest chain.
Our dev team is also planning to create a private Docker repository to upload and update Sentinel images — with access given to trusted agents only.
We wrote about Docker being the single most important tool when developing blockchain applications in our June Monthly Highlights.
CrossPay Mobile App Development
To ensure compatibility across various devices and operating systems, we have installed a messaging feature in the app which will prompt the user to switch to Unicode’s Myanmar Script if it detects Zawgi language input.
B. Country updates
Myanmar
Joint Pilot Project
(a) Our team met with the Deputy General (DG) of LBVD (Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department) in Nay Pyi Taw to deliver a progress update on Phase 1 of the livestock tagging completed across 3 farms in Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing and Magway. Topics discussed included (i) the local farmers’ positive acceptance rate of CrossPay app, (ii) the few challenges faced in real time farm conditions, and (iii) Phase 2 livestock tagging in Shan Region.
(b) The DG extended an invitation to our team to join a livestock tagging workshop conducted by LBVD in Shan region in August — in preparation for the implementation plan to roll out Phase 2 of the Project.
(c) A 3-party meeting between our team and representatives of the LBVD and Myanma Insurance is scheduled in September. This meeting will clarify questions related to livestock insurance policy and the LBVD process involved (i.e. livestock vaccination; death certificate issuance).

Meetups
30 July: Sharing the message of financial inclusion, CEO and Founder Roy Lai has been invited to speak at “ETHKL #2: Financial Inclusion” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He will share how Sentinel Chain, through livestock asset tokenisation — is a blockchain solution towards creating value and improving lives. Roy Lai is joined by other thought-leaders creating waves in the financial inclusion space.

31 July: On the following day, Roy Lai presents to a larger audience at Malaysia’s Monthly Blockchain KL Meetup. Joining Roy Lai at this ‘stellar’ blockchain meetup are notable speakers from the blockchain community — Triip Protocol, BridgeX, SMART PESA, BloomX and Kommerce.
