Myanmar Flood Relief Programme

We promised to share information as they unfold. We will be channeling 60% of the USD8500 raised to LBVD to purchase animal feeds and 40% to purchase children’s supplies for BDA NGO to bring to those impacted in Bago region. 181 tons of animal feeds will be purchased and donated to the affected regions of Kayin, Mon and Bago with the assistance of LBVD. Whilst Bago is within 2 hours south from Yangon, the former two regions are 6 hours away. Delivery of children’s supplies to Bago is scheduled for mid-September.

Our partner Myanma Insurance (MI)expressed gratitude to InfoCorp for having the heart for Myanmarese, for organising this fundraising to help flood-affected community, despite us being a start-up. In support of our efforts, MI organised an internal fundraising that culminated in a sum of MMK1,000,000 MMK (approx.USD 730) which speaks of the shared values of the InfoCorp team and those within MI, “…an organization that doesn’t pay very big salary…” as expressed by its managing director, Dr. Sandar Oo. MIs funds will be split into 50/50 to purchase animal feeds and children’s supplies, similarly facilitated by LBVD and BDA respectively. Stay tuned for further news.

C. Announcements

1. On 24th August, we announced that InfoCorp AgTech will purchase 5 Million SENC in preparation for Sentinel Chain’s launch of its first use case in Myanmar in Q1–2019.

InfoCorp AgTech, operator of Sentinel Chain, will be purchasing 1% (5 million SENC) of the total supply of SENC from the open market after 15th September 2018 based on the average end-of-day ETH price of SENC from 1st September 2018 to 10th September 2018 published in CoinGecko. This early purchase of SENC is carried out in view of the current low SENC value as well as the project being on track with regards to the roadmap. Read the full announcement here.

2. We launched our new “Foundation” page on Sentinel Chain’s website.

3. The team has been working hard to get stories on the ground to share with our community. We interviewed Dr. Than Thun and translated the inspiring story of his vision to empower farmers in Myanmar”. If you missed it, watch it here.

4. We’ve also been working hard to bring Sentinel Chain to a wider audience. You may have seen the tweet over the weekend about our CEO, Roy Lai speaking at Consensus. We need our community to share the news, so do retweet and remember to #sentinelchain

Sentinel Chain is a blockchain-based international marketplace for cross-border financial services and the world’s first platform to accept the use of livestock as collateral. Taking a unique approach to the last mile problem of financial inclusion, the Sentinel Chain model establishes livestock provenance through the creation of livestock insurance on blockchain — the registration of livestock provenance on blockchain provides the unbanked with a new opportunity: the real possibility of accepting livestock as ‘collateral’ for loans. Sentinel Chain is a project by InfoCorp Technologies
