100 Words + Fiction + Complete Story = A Drabble

I hit the halfway mark at the Bayshore Bus Terminal Station. I turned around and saw Dad was only a few steps behind. I had to amp up my running so I would finally beat him back home.
We made this run every morning, five miles.
I hated it with a passion.
But Dad was persistent. He ensured I kept on my game with my starting quarterback position, then off to the police academy.
None of which I wanted.
And he hated my girlfriend, Reagan, just because she’s Hispanic.
One more year, and he won’t have control of my life
