I tried sneaking out but didn’t make it. My mom scolded me because she almost didn’t get her first day of school photos of my senior year. My younger sister, Emma, had to be in every picture too.
I gave Em a kiss. “Love you. Have a good day.”
“Si.” Emma skipped away. Mom is teaching her to be bi-lingual.
“Do you have everything?” Mom questioned me.
“Yes.” I knew she was asking if I had taken my medication. I walked out to meet Brady. He was waiting for me. And at the moment, that was all that mattered.
