I clicked off my cell, grabbed my backpack, and walked out the front door. I began my almost two-mile trek to school down the public road that went straight to Bayshore High.
One of my besties, Shelby, texted that she couldn’t pick me up because she had to pick up Queen B, Reagan, another best friend.
Oh, well, no worries. This is a new year, a new me. It’s my senior year. It was going to be great, it can’t get worse, right?
Oh, fuck, who was I kidding? I was Danielle Robertson; of course, it could get worse.
