The Signal
At first, it seemed impossible.
A glitch, surely.
Random sparks across a faulty connection.
Or perhaps the door of a neighbor’s microwave had cracked when someone slammed it shut — shouting for the children to quit hitting each other or there’d be no dinner at all — and now it was leaking out radiation.
But we never once thought Eddy was putting us on.
He’s… well, he’s just not that sort of boy.
