Challenges

Changes-Kildare

Chapter One

Bright glaring sunlight bore down on Kildare Morn, as he stood regarding the remains of what once his beloved home. Granted, he’d heard threats voiced against his family, but this went beyond verbal warnings.

Apparently one of his relatives must’ve angered a big boss in the following town. Though this didn’t strike him as something DeLorean would normally do in retaliation against Ecker or Wayne, so they must’ve gone beyond the typical idiot factor this time.

His mouth compressed in contemplation of the next steps. He sighed wearily and raised his communication device. “DeLorean Kyrian.” He voiced the name reluctantly. The brother of Samuel DeLorean, they controlled most of Tilok Mountain range and half the valleys that populated the passes that crisscrossed the east side of Tilok’s verdant ranges.

Unfortunately, the Morn family created problems for the DeLorean clan no longer after they’d arrived in the pass roughly three hundred years ago. Now it was an ongoing grudge match reaching down through nine generations. The tenth generation wanted to continue it, Kildare didn’t. he would leave the beloved home if he wanted peace, but first he needed to resolve this issue. As in why they chose to burn down the family home, rather than one of the more prosperous properties in another valley, such as Killoran. He sighed in frustration, but kept it reined in when someone answered promptly.

“Is this Kyrian DeLorean?” Kildare inquired warily. He’d a few times when someone else answered the phone in Kyrian’s behalf. Those sessions hadn’t gone well either.

“Yes, this is Kyrian. I’m guessing you found the remains of the main family house?” Kyrian’s voice held measured resignation.

“Yes, I’d like to know which relative prompted the destruction this time.” Kildare would hunt down his or her ass and destroy it with as much vindictiveness that went into the destruction of his small little house. “This was my personal home, not the family property, despite what came up on the paperwork.” He snarled in furious ire.

“Your personal home?” Now Kyrian’s filled with horror.

“Yeah, I lived separately from the rest. There’s been some legal issues and questions as to whether I’m even one of the blood of the Morn clan.” He’d raised the questions since he resembled absolutely none of them and looked more like a DeLorean in fact. “Didn’t you ever question the legitimacy once or twice in the past?” Kildare pointedly inquired. “Especially after Sarina showed too much interest in me?”
