Comments on morning routine: I stayed up late last night, so I woke up at 7:00 AM instead of 5:00 AM and took it easy this morning. I still finished everything in my morning routine and had a great start to 2018.

Morning routine ended: 7:18 AM

Comments on morning routine: Today’s morning routine was very slow. Writing took the longest, mainly because I spent a lot of time figuring out my publishing schedule and article ideas. I got through the whole routine, however, and tomorrow I’ll crush it.

Book: The Power of Blessing by Kerry Kirkwood

Music practice: I spent an hour drumming. I got creative with my fills and practiced separating my hands and my feet while I was playing. I also spent a long time working on my single strokes.

Korean vocab: I regained familiarity with the Korean alphabet and jotted down 10 vocab words in a Google Docs.

Top three projects:

I completed all three of my projects yesterday. My top project was multiplying my usual schedule by two, since I didn’t have any school. It was a great and productive day.

Overall impression:

It was a great start to 2018. I never felt like I was rushing anything, but all of my productivity was very deliberate and focused. A bit of a later start to the day then I’m used to, but I’ll get enough sleep tonight so I can wake up at 5 AM tomorrow. I finished all three of my projects, and spent almost two hours in quiet meditation/prayer.

Morning routine ended: 7:10 AM

Comments on morning routine: Eight minutes faster than yesterday, but I should be finishing around the 6:50 mark. I think the main problem this morning was that it was very cold, which makes writing at a desk very uncomfortable. I’m determined to have a good day, however, because I’m going back to school. I have to stay focused so I have minimal homework.

Music practice: Today I started practicing a new song from sheet music for the first time in a while. After I learned chords, I’ve just been learning the chords to song and playing those. I forgot how satisfying it is to learn to play the melody to a song. I was also surprised by how easily I picked up. It was a great practice session.

Korean vocab: I now have 26 words on my vocab list, but I definitely haven’t memorized them all yet. I’ve been using Duolingo every day.

I completed 2/3 projects yesterday.

Overall impression:

It was a slow day, but I still got a lot done since I don’t go back to school until today. I think it’s interesting that I had a slow day after having a slower morning routine. It just goes to show that it’s important to start the day off strongly. Today will be true test of whether I can handle this schedule after coming home from school, so I’d better crush the morning routine.
