London Day 1.
Our foray into the city of London kickstarted with a tube ride to where our hotel was – the lovely neighbourhood of South Kensington aka the royal borough of Kensington.
Our station – Gloucester Road. Pronounced ‘glow-stir’.
Yes yes, like Worcester.
The tube network is very impressive. Great connections, reaching most any destination within the main city. The tube itself is cleaner, with better seats, and less weirdos. (London tube, +1!)
But it shuts down past midnight which is a bummer. (NYC subway ftw!)
We soon realised that Piccadilly line was going to be our go-to line.
That and the buses. The buses are omnipotent and go everywhere the tube doesn’t. And hey, that double-decker!
