Salute.

Dear You,

How are you doing?

We’ve chased time away from us,

While we’ve been interviewing.

-

The kids are great

………..the wife is good

-

So…why do you look so grey?

So tired…

And misunderstood?

-

…………………………..

………………………………………………

……………………………………………

……………………………………….

-

You know it’s okay.

What they say,

About people growing up.

Apart.

-

…………………

……………………….

-

……you repeat one mistake today,

And a life long pattern will start….

-

.

-

But you know that.

-

.

-

Your mistakes with me were grave.

The idea of you allowing them to suffer….

Forces me to pray.

-

.

-

Please.

-

.

-

Dearest You,

Search your aging heart.

Understand your flaws,

And create a painfully necessary new start.

-

.

-

This works well for us.

-

.

-

Inside our minds thoughts loudly chime,

While our lungs refuse us breath and our hearts the will to rhyme.

Keeping us both mute.

Such is our inevitable Father/Daughter Salute.

-

.
