As multiple teams start their journey together to improve agility, it becomes more complex to increase effectiveness of Scrum. The complexity comes from the size of transformation. In the journey each team learns from their mistakes and evolves to overcome the shortcomings. One of the services that a Scrum Master (SM) can provide to the organization is building a learning and sharing culture. A platform where teams exchange their learning helps in applying of new ideas and improve agility.
A typical command and control organization would ask to standardize the way of working for each team. This approach helps management dodge questions that would come if teams try out something new. By doing this organizations stifle innovation. A learning environment brings in new ideas and questions the need for standardization.
An organization should strive to build a culture where teams share their failure and learning with each other. Also, allowing teams to pick up any learning and experiment.
