Stop treating managers like the bad guy

A recurring question that I get is “why do we have managers at all in Agile?”. And I get that. The Scrum framework doesn’t show managers in the Scrum Team, for instance.

What do they do? And what do we need management for? The Annual State of Agility, a massive global survey, has continuously reported the absence of leadership participation and inadequate management support and sponsorship in the top six implementation challenges.
