Consider Those Who Didn’t Celebrate Fathers Day
Whilst acknowledging the good fathers out there and sending them love
The first thing I did yesterday morning was send a text to my father-in-law, to wish him a happy Fathers Day. He’s a genuinely lovely man who I owe a great deal to.
In the afternoon, I dropped a present off for him, stopped for a cuppa and a chat. Oh ok, I admit it, there was cake too and it was very tasty, but I would have stayed a while anyway.
I bought the present, trawling through various online sites of commercial tat and eventually going back to Folksy, an Etsy type place with lots of lovely handmade things — but focused on sellers in the UK.

It can be a bit pricey, but I managed to find a couple of attractive little pieces for him.
But notice, I bought the present, I sent the text, I went down to see him. Yes, my partner, son of said father-in-law, is disabled through long-term illness and often bed-bound, but we’ve been together twice as long as he’s been ill and I’ve always been the one to do this. Mothers Day too.
Now, I do this gladly for my in-laws, they’ve done a lot for us over the years…
