Jeremy Bernard Corbyn (born in Chippenham, Wiltshire on the 26th May 1949) is a British politician.

For anyone who isn’t big on British politics, Corbyn was the leader of the Labour Party, Britain’s most popular left-wing party, from 2015 to 2020. During that time, he became a divisive, somewhat controversial figure amongst both the opposition, the Conservative Party, and people within/supporters of the Labour Party itself.

The biggest controversy and the one that subsequently led to Corbyn being suspended from, not just his position as leader (he stepped down as leader voluntarily after failing to win in 2019’s general election- Labour had its worst election result since 1935), but from the Labour party altogether, was surrounding the comments he made that were deemed ‘anti-Semitic*’.

*(‘Anti-Semitic’ meaning hostility or prejudice against Jews).

The exact comment was in response to a 130-page report that detailed serious failings in the party’s handling of persistent anti-Semitism complaints during Corbyn’s 2015–2019 leadership. He responded to the report…
