The Mastering AWS Serverless Companion Course

In this course, we will learn how to master AWS Serverless. We will cover quite a few topics.

We will go over an introduction to what AWS Serverless is, what applications you can build with Serverless, and how you can design one. Then, we’ll go through the steps of actually creating an application. We’ll start by launching a website. We will create an API (application programming interface) where the website can get data from a backend and update the website. We’ll learn how to save and use data saved in the backend.

We’ll add authentication and authorization to allow users to sign up for our website. We’ll learn how to process data, send notifications, and other topics.

I want to share the Mastering AWS Serverless book. You can learn how to get a copy at the Mastering AWS Serverless Book website. BPB Publication (the publisher) also provides a free preview copy. This book is over 400 pages long and contains many diagrams and explanations.

The first few chapters cover serverless concepts. Then, in chapter four, you start getting into exercises. There are several hands-on exercises in the book.

In chapter four, you’ll see the first set of exercises. Hands-on exercises follow a brief overview. The first hands-on exercise is to secure your AWS account with multi-factor authentication. The book also covers registering and enabling a serverless website.

You’re not required to buy it to make this a successful course. It might be helpful because the book will go into more detail, and you can follow it step-by-step. However, for visual learners, this course would be one way to see it done in a video and step-by-step.

I did not include an image for every step in the book. The course is not going to be a one-for-one match. There might be some deviations from the book, but the overall concepts and many of the exercises will be in this course.

This is not a course that focuses heavily on concepts. We’re going to explore the concepts briefly. I want to spend more time focusing on exercises so you can get experience.

By finishing this course, you will have a working serverless website with a front and back end.
