Asthma Connect — Consultation & Flyer

Asthma connect is a service that provides educational materials and face-to-face support to lower income caregivers in order to help children better understand and manage their asthma. To accomplish this, our service includes medical professionals that interact with community members during our quarterly consultations. During this time, medical professionals review the consultation form filled out by the caregivers, teach them how to use medication inhalers correctly, correct false impressions about medication, explain the role of environmental triggers, and answer any questions.

According to AAFA, Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, many similar programs have been tested among minority children and have demonstrate tremendous success. Programs that focus on asthma education and management can alleviate a large proportion of the burden of asthma in minority children and adults.

For this reason, we want to ensure that our service is well marketed and recognized by the community. We believe that word of mouth marketing is the best method. However, it is also important to have other methods that can inform community members about Asthma Connect. Therefore, we developed an informative flyer that can be shared with the community members in order to ensure that the disparity attributed to unequal access to preventive care is addressed.
