24 Hours in Natal

Natal is a Brazilian city. It’s the capital and the biggest city of Rio Grande do Norte. It is home to 950 thousand people.
Natal has a lot of tourist attractions and is famous for it’s natural beauty: incredible beaches, the largest cashew tree in the world and also for it’s off season carnival, the Carnatal.
Friday
12pm
When you arrive in Natal, you should take a cab to go to the Pestana Natal Beach Resort, one of the best hotels in the city. (Senador Dinarte Mariz St) It will costs about R$300. If you want to save money, you should go to the Albergue da Costa at Ponta Negra Beach. (Praia de Ponta Negra Ave). It costs about R$55.
3pm
Then you should go to the Old Five Restaurant (Erivan França Ave). It’s a seaside restaurant, excellent to take in the sunset while drinking tropical drinks.
7pm
You should have dinner at Camarões (Pedro Fonseca St; www.camaroes.com.br). It’s the most famous restaurant in Natal, and specializes in shrimps. Dinner may cost R$100 with drinks for 4 people. Order “Camarão do Chef”, it’s delicious!
11pm
You should go to Buraco da Catita. It’s a hole-in-the-wall where bands play samba and chorinho all night, popular brazilian music style. (Rua das Virgens St; www.buracodacatita.com.br. It’s a very nice and cheap place.
Saturday
6am
You should wake early and get some exercise in Parque das Dunas. Adults and kids go there to walk, play in the park or have a picnic. Costs R$1.
12pm
You should have lunch at the Barraca do Banga (Rua do Poço St, Pirangi do Sul; www.barracadobanga.com.br). It has a lot of northeaster food and seafood, but the specialty of the house is tapioca. It’s a perfect place to enjoy crabs with beer at the seaside.
2pm
You should head to the cashew tree. It’s the timeless attraction at Pirangi Beach. The entrance fee costs R$5.
