Divergent

It’s a movie based in a novel of the same name by Veronica Roth and directed by Neil Burger. The movie was realesed in 2014. On its first day of advance ticket sales the film sold half of its tickets.

In a future Chicago when a teenager Beatrice (Shailene Woodley) turns 16 years old she has to choose among differents factions where people are divided in districts based in human virtues. The society is divided in five factions: Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless, and Erudite, and those is not faction members are called factionless. She chooses Dauntless, the soldier class, their members spend their days wearing cool black clothes, fightting , and running everywhere they go. Before she makes her choice she takes tests and finds out she has atributes that gives her a possibility to fit in 3 factions. So she is a divergent and she needs to keep it secret because this is considered by society as a threat. Her atribute catches the attention of her trainer Four (Theo James) who becomes her protector and love interest. Soon she notices her condition might help her to save her family while that society is under a sort of dangerous.

I think this divided factions means that everybody has a place in society but there are always those with more power. Our choices or our families and our money become who we are. People can be different and decide not to be just what is the normal consequence of the enviroment. However that is a hard choice because society don’t deal well with that.

Also there are those people that just can’t fit in the society just because they don’t have a job for example. They dont’t choose it but they are apart from society like the factionless.

Divergent is a good reminder of our individuality. But it’s also a good reminder of how we have the capacity to work on ourselves, to challenge the strengths and weakneses we have and improve them.

Actually this is a teenager movie but all kind of people can like it if consider to think about the plot.

I would recommend Divergent because it’s a good plot, an action movie with some interests aspects.
