New SessionStack features - the ability to search users by “visited URL”, and share a session.

Today we are glad to announce our two new features helping our customers get work done faster and easier.

Ability to search for users by “Visited URL”

Back in December 2021 in our blog post for segments, we discussed the ability to save segments and apply them to the Sessions dashboard. Today we want to introduce you to our first event filter in segments.

“Visited URL” is a new segment filter, which gives you the ability to search for users by a specific URL. The “contains” option can be configured to accept text and URL path wildcards.

See how to use it in the steps below:

Step 1: In "Sessions tab" Select "Visited URL" filter
Step2: click in the field: “contains”
Step 3: type in the field

No need to define a full URL path, it works with subpaths, too.

Step4: you can enter URL path wildcard
Step5: event filter “Visited URL” is set with a value, can be saved as a new segment

The “Visited URL” segmentation filter helps you to:

  • Build more precise Segment for your user experience analysis
  • Save time watching irrelevant Sessions

Proper segmentation is the first step of understanding your customers and ultimately getting User Experience Insights. This is why we’re developing more and more granular segmentation, to help your analytics process. Stay tuned for new filters and features related to Segmentation that we will roll out very soon.

Ability to share a session

Our second feature in today’s post is a Share option from our player controllers. It helps you:

  • To collaborate with your team by sharing a recorded session at a certain time.
  • The shared link can be copied to the description of any ticket in your ticketing/bug tracking system.
  • Sharing a session with a certain time slot helps you avoid browsing through long inactivity periods or irrelevant user actions.

You can find the new option inside our replayer controllers in the bottom right corner. Check the image below.

Session replays provide incredibly in-depth insights for our customers. This is the connection point between dashboard metrics, KPIs, quantity data, and UXI.

Our clients tell us that watching user sessions is valuable insight that empowers them to experience what their customers experience but even so it is a time-consuming process. Finding the balance between watching the right portion of the user session and having the right insight is a piece of art and this is our continuous strive to improve. The new feature in session replay is just one of the many new future improvements.
