The latest SessionStack introduces SSO
We’re very excited to announce that SessionStack now supports SAML as an authentication option in our product.
As companies with bigger teams are starting to use SessionStack, it was getting harder for them to invite and onboard everyone on their team.
So far, you had to go to the team settings of your project and send invites to everyone who needs to have access. This works well for 5–10 people teams, but if you want to onboard more than 50 or 100 people, it’s getting quite difficult to manage.
SAML
We decided to introduce SAML as the first SSO protocol which will be supported since it has been the most requested one.
In order to enable SAML for your organization, you need to go to the newly introduced “Organization Settings” section, located at the bottom of our side menu:
There, you have to click the “Enable Single Sign-on with SAML” switch, which allows you to enter the information for your Identity Provider:
After this is configured, you can now leverage the SSO capabilities and no longer provide credentials when authenticating.
What happens for existing users?
After you login into SessionStack, you will be prompted with a window, requiring you to set a URL, which will be used for your organization. It looks like this:
After you enter your organization URL, you will be redirected to your organization, containing all of the projects you already had. Enabling SSO is just an option which is not mandatory.
We’re looking forward to hearing your feedback about the next identity provides we should support suggestions on what other features you want to see next.
In case you still haven’t had the chance to try out SessionStack, you can start a free trial.
