The Seven Story House
Some of my most cherished memories are tucking my kids in at night and telling them bedtime stories. After the nightly routine and lights out, I would kneel next to their bed, and in those magical moments, most of the stories seemed to tell themselves. I still remember my then four-year-old daughter’s endless pleas of “Daddy, please, just one more story!”
Three children and fifteen years later, I have told thousands.
Now, as I reflect on those times, I began to realize that not all of us were fortunate enough to have a bedtime story read to them regularly by a loving parent or friend.
Can you relate to that? If so, The Seven Story House is written for you. Maybe one day it will be your nightly companion. I hope these stories will provide you with much comfort and joy before you drift off to sleep.
So I pledge to write these down for you. (And to make good on a promise to my children.)
And please, hold me to my promise, I will need the encouragement.
So tuck yourself in, turn down the lights, and let’s get started.
