Its May in DC (sorry, had to), cue flowers, fluctuating humidity, and more fun outdoor stuff than you can possibly get to in a weekend. Here’s 7 things the 730 team doesn’t want to miss this month.

1. Sundress Fest (May 5)

Daydrinking. Sundresses. Raising Money for DC Central Kitchen. Can’t miss it.

2. Funk Parade (May 11th):

Starting with a #DontMuteDC conference, get funky on U street all day with the festival, parade, & a night music fest.

3. POW! WOW! Mural Fest (May 5–14):

NoMa gets 10 days of art & creativity. The event kicks off with a party at wundergarden on the 4th and runs through the 4th.

4. Passport DC Embassy Open Houses (multiple days)

70+ embassies are opening their doors this month. Check them out at The Around the World Embassy Tour (May 4th) the EU Embassies Open House (May 11th), and other events across May.

5. Catharsis on the Mall (May 3–5):

No need to trek to Black Rock City, Nevada, burner culture is coming right to you! This year’s 3-day vigil theme is Our Mothership, and there’ll be art installations and all kinds of activities on the Mall.

6. Kingman Island Bluegrass Fest (May 4th):

It’s the 10th anniversary of the island’s bluegrass fest. Your ticket gets you folksy tunes & supports island stewardship & hands-on education programming through the Living Classrooms Foundation.

7. Bike to Work Day (May 17)

Grab your bike or a bikeshare & hit one of the 115 pit stops will be open across the DMV the morning of May 17.
