Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to find the key to your lock, the shoe to your sock? Plan to join a dating app in order to accomplish that? If so, you’re far from alone. Especially today.

This is because the first Sunday of each new year, which is known as “Dating Sunday” or “Singles Sunday” is the busiest day of the year on dating apps. In fact, this time last year, Match expected an 80 percent boost in users and Bumble expected a 30 percent increase. This was in line with the Dating Sunday trend of the last few years: For example, on Dating Sunday in 2019, Coffee Meets Bagel had over one million messages sent on the app from the matches made that day and in 2017, there were 44 million matches on Tinder.
