Do you have a hard time being productive at work? Or do you have low job satisfaction? Before hitting the job boards, research shows you may want to hit the bedroom first.

“Maintaining a healthy relationship that includes a healthy sex life will help employees stay happy and engaged in their work….”

According to a study published in the Journal of Management, couples who make sex a priority find that the day after a good romp, they are more engaged at work, feel more satisfied, and have an overall better mood that lasts more than 24 hours. This is not surprising when you consider that sex is associated with the increase of chemicals and hormones in the brain that elevate our mood.

“We make jokes about people having a ‘spring in their step,’ but it turns out this is actually a real thing and we should pay attention to it,” said researcher Keith Leavitt. “Maintaining a healthy relationship that includes a healthy sex life will help employees stay happy and engaged in their work, which benefits the employees and the organizations they work for.”
