Music is the soundtrack of our lives, and it’s also the soundtrack of our sex lives. The specific songs or artists that sound sexy to someone’s ear is highly individualized, but there are certain genres people go to when they’re in the mood more than others. In a survey of 1,000 people, ZAVA asked what musical genres they are most likely to have on the playlist as they’re doing the deed. The following were the top choices for men:

  • 1. R&B or Soul (12.7 percent)
  • 2. Jazz or Smooth Jazz (9.6 percent)
  • 3. Easy Listening (8.4 percent)
  • 4. Rock (5.5 percent)
  • 5. Pop (4.1 percent)
  • 6. Electronic (3.5 percent)
  • 7. Dance or EDM (3.3 percent)
  • 8. Blues (3.3 percent)
  • 9. Hip-Hop or Rap (2.9 percent)
  • 10. Alternative (2.9 percent)

“The connection between music and sex is more than just skin deep.”
