I’m sure a lot of us use the term nymphomaniac when expressing a strong and constant sexual desire. It’s frustrating, debilitating sometimes, and unfortunately used as a desired stigma around the world.

I get it, the idea of having constant pornographic, Hollywood-style sex seems like a dream come true for most couples. But it’s really not. I've almost ended my relationship over it. Whether your sexual desires come from past traumatic events or your personality, endless sex isn’t all it’s chalked up to be.

For the women reading, I admire your ability to say no. For the men reading, take it vantage that you may have a partner who doesn’t want to be on top of you 24 seven.

1. Stress

I constantly want to have sex. All times of the day. This proves to be pretty difficult because we have a small child and share our home. It doesn’t matter if it’s nighttime, breakfast time, after an argument, or in the middle of watching a TV show, whatever the reason, I am constantly wanting to have sex.

According to my psychologist, it’s because of physical, mental, sexual, and emotional abuse throughout my life. I have come to terms with my past, so while my psychologist is better suited for analyzing me…
