The 8 Types of Endings in Adultery
When the endings are as predictable as the beginnings
We’ve all been dumped. And some of us have been the dumpee. Adultery is a Faustian cycle of endings and beginnings.
Will you sell your soul? Hell, yes. That’s pretty much guaranteed. How far your depravity stretches is the only question left. My deal with the devil isn’t pretty. My morality is punted for dirty cheating sex that ends all too soon.
Here are the eight endings I’ve encountered in “affair land.”
The Ghoster:
Oh boy, this is fun, right? The daily “Good morning” messages that always made you smile aren’t there. Followed by zero apologies. No “Sorry, it’s been a busy day,” text. Hours go by. Days pass.
Nothing.
You start to worry. Discovered? Doubtful. Dead? Nope. Is he not interested? Yup.
The Breadcrumber:
You were riding high on that NRE (new relationship energy) and multiple messages a day; life was sweet. And, then, BAM! The messages slowly trickle. It’s like prying a tooth to get a response.
Life goes on, people get busy. That’s what you tell yourself, at least.
