I get a lot of Direct Messages on social media, and they fall into spam, scam, or fan.

45% of them are scams. Sometimes when I am bored, I play along with them.

50% are spam — usually offering to enhance my sex life, offer me longer orgasms, or just lonely hot housewives looking for "friends." There certainly seem to be a lot of very lonely housewives seeking companions.

That leaves 5% that falls into the fan category. People who have read an article and decided to reply somewhat positively.

So it was a good dopamine boost when I saw a message saying:

"Thanks for the article. I love your writing style."

Best of all, next to their user name was a little blue tick, meaning they are a somewhat well-known Instagram account.

The message came from Stefan-Pierre Tomlin. Model, influencer, TV reality star — and the Most Swiped Guy on Tinder.
