Having Sex With A Sex Addict
What it’s like to be with someone who is “addicted” to sex
Imagine you’re walking down the sidewalk in a busy urban center anywhere in a western country. There would be dozens of people in your immediate field of vision and if you stood up on a bench and looked around, you’d easily see hundreds of people.
For the sake of this example, let’s say you see 100 people.
What you might not realize is that between 6 and 8 of those people are what can be loosely described as “sex addicts.”
To further break that down, if it were 100 women, as many as 7 of them would report a problem with sex addiction, and maybe as many as 10 if the women were replaced by men.
For a bit of perspective, if you looked out at that same random sample of 100 people, about 5 of them would be able to be diagnosed as clinically depressed.
There is a range of recent surveys showing that “sex addiction” is a much bigger problem than we think, and in the internet age, it’s a growing problem.
