How to Access
Walk around to 23 Geary Street (opposite side of Market). Tell the guard you are there to view the roof. They will ask for you ID. Then go the first elevator down the hall on your left. Go to Floor 11.
The first thing you’ll notice is how tiny this roof is. The roof deck was built to fill out 2,500 square feet of public space, required by the Downtown Plan of 1985.
But when you look past the edges of the roof, you see why this place is adored by POPOS visitors.
The location is central downtown. At this epicenter on Market, you’re ble to see O’Farrell and Third Street. Everything seems to stand still, while streets are bustling with movement.
Mobile furniture allows a highly configurable setting — sometimes there’s events with One Kearny Club that use this roof after-hours. It’s easy to appreciate the maintenance of the shrubs and no litter in sight.
The management has a laundry list of what you’re not allowed to do. No cooking or cutting of plants. Dispose your trash in the bins after you’re done. The Managment will appreciate it, and so will the next visitors.
