Have you seen this error before?

I encountered this error when tried to delete an account record type in my ORG.

Here are the steps you need to take before deleting any record types.

Step 1: Deactivate the Record Type

Step 2: Profile Default Record Type

Ensure that the record type is not set to default on any profile

Step 3: Press Delete Upon Prompt

I was under the impression that this error stopped me from deleting the record type. But, I realized that it was essentially just a warning sign. Once you click the delete link again, you should be able to Delete the record type.

Step 4: Replace Existing Records With New Value

The last step in deleting the record type is to replace it with a new value for any existing records.

And that should do it!
