What’s one of the best things brought to us by globalization? A global professional network! Today, you don’t have to restrict your knowledge to the limits of your city, country, or even continent! HolyJS 2018 is one such opportunity to mingle with a variety of experiences, and our JS people here SFL didn’t want to miss on the chance.

The Background

HolyJS 2018 Moscow is a JavaScript conference that took place in Moscow on November 24–25, 2018. It brings together several hundred of JS professionals from all over the world for 2 days of pure JS talk. This year, the number of attendees hit 600.

The discussions revolve around the present and future of JavaScript community with the world’s leading experts and allow to watch dozens of frontend talks and much more. We dwell on both backend and desktop.

What’s in it?

The conference goes over the trending JS topics of today:

  • Architecture of modern JS-applications;
  • Client Side: best practices, performance, memory management;
  • Node.js: best practices, performance, memory management;
  • JS engines (V8, SpiderMonkey, ChakraCore, etc.);
  • Optimizing JS-applications;
  • Customers-server synchronization, client-side data storage;
  • Working with graphics and VR (WebGL, D3.js, etc.);
  • Mobile apps (ReactNative, VueNative, NativeScript, etc.);
  • PWA;
  • Desktop apps (Electron, NW.js, etc.);

  • JS on devices, IoT;
  • Security in JS;
  • Tools’ development with JS;

  • And many more

For several SFLians on board, this means broader knowledge and better insights into the most common development language of 2018.

As we wait for members of #teamSFL to come back freshened up with new insights, stay tuned for our future knowledge-sharing posts on the topic.
