The Weightiness of the Way

Hazon 17:1–7

  • Hazon 17:1: And one of the seven messengers who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying to me, “Come, I shall show you the judgment of the great whore sitting on many waters,
  • Hazon 17:2: with whom the sovereigns of the earth committed whoring, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her whoring.”
  • Hazon 17:3: And he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast covered with names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
  • Hazon 17:4: And the woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup filled with abominations and the filthiness of her whoring,
  • Hazon 17:5: and upon her forehead a name written, a secret: BAḆEL THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE WHORES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
  • Hazon 17:6: And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the set-apart ones, and with the blood of the witnesses of יהושע. And having seen her, I marvelled — greatly marvelled!
  • Hazon 17:7: And the messenger said to me, “Why did you marvel? Let me explain to you the secret of the woman and of the beast she rides, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.

Romiyim 8:1–22

Romans 8:1: There is, then, now no condemnation to those who are in Messiah יהושע, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Romans 8:2: For the Torah of the Spirit of the life in יהושע, Messiah has set me free from the law of sin and of death.

Romans 8:3: For the Torah being powerless, in that it was weak through the flesh, Yah, having His own Son in the likeness of flesh of sin, and concerning sin, condemned sin in the flesh,

Romans 8:4: so that the righteousness of the Torah should be completed in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Romans 8:5: For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the matters of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the matters of the Spirit.

Romans 8:6: For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace.

Romans 8:7: Because the mind of the flesh is enmity towards Yah, for it does not subject itself to the Torah of Yah, neither indeed is it able,

Romans 8:8: and those who are in the flesh are unable to please Yah.

Romans 8:9: But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of Yah dwells in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Messiah, this one is not His.

Romans 8:10: And if Messiah is in you, the body is truly dead on account of sin, but the Spirit is life on account of righteousness.

Romans 8:11: And if the Spirit of Him who raised יהושע from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Messiah from the dead shall also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit dwelling in you.

Romans 8:12: So then, brothers, we are not debtors to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.

Romans 8:13: For if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you shall live.

Romans 8:14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of Yah, these are sons of Yah.

Romans 8:15: For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

Romans 8:16: The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of Yah,

Romans 8:17: and if children, also heirs — truly heirs of Yah, and co-heirs with Messiah, if indeed we suffer with Him, in order that we also be exalted together.

Romans 8:18: For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the esteem that is to be revealed in us.

Romans 8:19: For the intense longing of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of Yah.

Romans 8:20: For the creation was subjected to futility, not from choice, but because of Him who subjected it, in anticipation,

Romans 8:21: that the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage to corruption into the esteemed freedom of the children of Yah.

Romans 8:22: For we know that all the creation groans together, and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.

Luqas 12:37–48

Luke 12:37: “Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, shall find watching. Truly, I say to you that he shall gird himself and make them sit down to eat, and shall come and serve them.

Luke 12:38: “And if he comes in the second watch, or in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

Luke 12:39: “And know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief comes, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.

Luke 12:40: “And you, then, be ready, for the Son of Aḏam is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

Luke 12:41: And Kĕpha said to Him, “Master, do You speak this parable to us, or also to all?”

Luke 12:42: And the Master said, “Who then is the trustworthy and wise manager, whom his master shall appoint over his household, to give the portion of food in due season?

Luke 12:43: “Blessed is that servant whom his master shall find so doing when he comes.

Luke 12:44: “Truly, I say to you that he shall appoint him over all his possessions.

Luke 12:45: “But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat the male servants and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk,

Luke 12:46: the master of that servant shall come on a day when he does not expect him, and at an hour that he does not know, and shall cut him in two and appoint his portion with the unbelievers.

Luke 12:47: “And that servant who knew his master’s desire, and did not prepare, nor did according to his desire, shall be beaten with many stripes.

Luke 12:48: “But he who did not know, yet did what deserved flogging, shall be beaten with few. And everyone to whom much is given, from him much shall be demanded. And to whom much has been entrusted, from him much more shall be asked.

Philipiyim 2:5–11

Philipiyim 2:5: For, let this mind be in you which was also in יהושע, Messiah

Philipiyim 2:6: who, being in the form of Yah, did not regard equality with Yah a matter to be grasped,

Philipiyim 2:7: but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, and came to be in the likeness of men.

Philipiyim 2:8: And having been found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, death even of a stake.

Philipiyim 2:9: Yah, therefore, has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name,

Philipiyim 2:10: that at the Name of יהושע every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,

Philipiyim 2:11: and every tongue should confess that יהושע Messiah is Master, to the esteem of Yah the Father.

Baruk 5:29

Baruk 5 Take courage, my people, who perpetuate Ysrayls name!
Baruk 6 It was not for destruction that you were sold to the nations,
but you were handed over to your enemies because you angered Yah.
Baruk 7 For you provoked the one who made you by sacrificing to demons and not to Yah.
Baruk 8 You forgot the everlasting Yah, who brought you up,
and you grieved Yerushalayim, who reared you.
Baruk 9 For she saw the wrath that came upon you from Yah, and she said: Listen, you neighbours of Zion, Yah has brought great sorrow upon me;
Baruk 10 for I have seen the exile of my sons and daughters, which the Everlasting brought upon them.
Baruk 11 With joy I nurtured them,
but I sent them away with weeping and sorrow.
Baruk 12 Let no one rejoice over me, a widow
 and bereaved of many;
Baruk 25 I was left desolate because of the sins of my children,
Baruk 26 because they turned away from the law of Yah.
Baruk 27 Take courage, my children, and cry to Yah,
for you will be remembered by the one who brought this upon you.
Baruk 28 For just as you were disposed to go astray from Yah,
return with tenfold zeal to seek him.
Baruk 29 For the one who brought these calamities upon you
will bring you everlasting joy with your salvation.
