Small pharmaceutical companies are beating the big companies with their one hit wonders. As per IE, these small companies do not even rank in the top fifty as per their revenue. But, they have a brand or two, which outranks the top most companies in sales.

Betadine is 28th largest medicine in India by sales. At the same time, very few know about its manufacturer Win-Medicare. It brought in more than INR 350 crores. Sinarest is 33rd largest medicine in India. Its manufacturer Centaur Pharmaceuticals, ranks 60th in the overall pharma market. Other popular brands of medicines are Dexorange, Zincovit, Meftal and Losar (losartan).

Most of these companies have revenues of less than INR 1000 crores. They are fighting against the companies such as Sun Pharma ( annual revenue of more than INR 55,000 crores), Cipla ( annual revenue of more than INR 25,000 crores) and Lupin ( annual revenue of more than INR 15,000 crores). More power to these small companies.
