How to vote for Shahid in the June 5 primary
Shahid Buttar is running for Congress in San Francisco against Nancy Pelosi.
Our current system is failing us. Both party establishments represent corporations over communities and profits before people. Now’s the time for change.

If you’ve decided that Shahid’s the right candidate for you, and want to know how to vote for him, read on.
Step 1: Make sure you are registered to vote in the 12th Congressional District
To register you must be:
- Resident of San Francisco who lives in California’s 12th Congressional District (see map)
- 18 years old or older on Election Day
- A United States citizen
- Not currently in prison or on parole for a felony conviction
Check if you are registered to vote here. If yes, go to Step 2 below.
If you are not already registered, submit a voter registration application by midnight on May 21, 2018.

- Or you can register in person at your local CA DMV. You can find your nearest DMV location here.
If you are not able to register by May 21, don’t give up! You can still vote for Shahid through something called “conditional registration.”
- Between May 21 and June 5, go to the San Francisco County Elections office and complete an affidavit of registration.

- You will be given a provisional ballot. Once the election official determines you fulfill all registration requirements, your ballot will be counted and your registration will become permanent.
Step 2: VOTE on time
Vote in-person on June 5th (Election Day)
- Cast your vote on June 5 from 7:00 a.m. — 8:00 p.m. at your nearest polling location (which you can find here).
Submit your vote-by-mail ballot by:
- Mailing it — Must be postmarked on or before June 5, received by the county elections office no later than June 8.
- Hand delivering it — to any of the polling locations by 8:00 pm on June 5.
