We’re excited to share that we’ve implemented a significant upgrade for Bitcoin and Ethereum wallet addresses that make funding more reliable.

As part of the upgrade, your account will be assigned new wallet addresses for Bitcoin and Ethereum this week.

What you need to know

  • Over the next couple of days, you will be assigned new Bitcoin and Ethereum wallet addresses.
  • Old addresses will still be supported but we recommend funding your account with new addresses for the best service.
  • New Bitcoin addresses will be assigned to you after every use. You may continue to use previously assigned addresses but it is best practice in Bitcoin not to reuse addresses.
  • Ethereum addresses are not reassigned after every use. You will only be assigned one new Ethereum address, which we recommend switching to. These new addresses will improve reliability, especially when receiving internal or smart contract transactions.

Note that this does not change the currencies supported. No ERC20 nor any other tokens will be supported with these new addresses.

Help make the world financially self-sovereign

At Shakepay, we believe everyone should be in control of their own wealth. We’re making it easy to access and use Bitcoin to achieve economic freedom.

If you’re interested in helping the world become financially self-sovereign, we’re hiring a Product Designer, a Frontend Developer, and a few other positions.
