Together and how!

We often come across such adorable pics on social media under the caption ‘Relationship Goals’ but my favourite couple belongs to a different species altogether.

All couples go through ups and downs.

Started with this generic statement because i am aware of a couple who prove this dictum wrong. These two only have sides for each other; no space for ups and downs in their relationship. At least none that i’ve noted in over two years now. They are free spirited and beautiful together. Unlike a lot of us, they genuinely adore each other and don’t seem to be under the spell of societal tolerance. No nautanki. Only love. The care and affection they’ve got is worth emulating. The best part being they don’t even need puppies to be like this!

Yes, puppies.

There’s nothing binding them and yet they are bound by the time they spend together.

I’m talking about Laila and Manju here.

Behind every feisty woman is a man who seems like… err.. a pretty handsome stalker. [Warning: This assumption doesn’t apply to cruel two-legged beings.]
In this market, it’s almost impossible to spot one and miss the other. They are ALWAYS together. They eat together, play together, bark at the passing cars together and of course, sleep together.
Laila has piercing eyes whereas Manju doesn’t look at a human longer than 3 seconds. The marks on their face pay ode to the harshness of a street dog’s life in our country, no matter how modern a city is.
This dance-like performance continued for about 20 minutes last winter. The very height of PDA, it was. He kept licking her fur and nuzzling her snout. Nothing remotely sexual though. This picture was snapped right at the end of their raas-leela when they got distracted by a passing beagle.
Laila loves to spend her evening outside the pet shop whereas Manju roams by, keeping an eye on his lady. He doesn’t trust anyone, especially humans, with her. Too possessive, this fellow. Fortunately.
The ongoing summer is taking a toll. They are losing fur at a stunning rate, which is a normal development. I haven’t been able to touch Manju yet but i know from Laila that cool surface is a blessing.
Clicked by my wife, that’s me with Laila while her guy was to my right keenly observing what was going on. It’s amazing how he continues to maintain his distance from us. What’s more amazing is how these two look out for each other.

Golazo of a relationship goal, these two!

They are one of the reasons why the rumour that our world is going to the dogs could be a good news.
